Christmas is now just around the corner and the festive tunes have already been playing in the shops for weeks. But did you know you can register to vote faster than you can sing ‘I wish it could be Christmas’?

If you visit gov.uk/register-to-vote you can register in three minutes, whereas blasting out a full-length version of the classic Wizzard track would take you 4 minutes 48 seconds.

With elections for the Mayor of London and the London Assembly taking place next year, now is a great time to take a few minutes out of the yuletide hullaballoo to make sure you can have your say in May. And with 44% of people who aren’t registered to vote incorrectly believing that they are, it’s important to double check.
