Fire safety works on the Chalcots Estate - Latest Update 11 July 2017

Good progress continues at the Chalcots blocks to upgrade flat entrance doors and finish off works to communal areas in all blocks.

As works are completed independent building control are providing confirmation the works meet building control regulations.

The fire service has also been to the Chalcots Estate today to review the works and confirm that they have been completed in accordance with their advice. They have verbally confirmed this on site and we await their written confirmation that the areas of immediate concern that led to the evacuation have been addressed.

We are confident that we are still on track to start to move residents back into their homes this week. Residents from the lower floors of Burnham and Bray buildings will be first. Residents on these floors will be contacted by our teams tomorrow to discuss getting them home as quickly and easily as possible. As work is completed on other floors throughout the Estate we’ll call residents on those floors to discuss their return home, so please wait for us to call you before making arrangements. Our teams will be able to discuss any questions you have.

You can read the detailed works programme here and our previous updates can be found below. This was last updated at 1pm on Tuesday 11 July 2017.

Residents can access a dedicated Chalcots residents’ line via Contact Camden at 020 7974 4444, option 7 (24 hours a day).
