Camden wins big at London Council’s Apprenticeship Awards

London councils came together on Friday night to recognise apprentices and their London borough managers at the seventh annual London Borough Apprenticeship Awards.

Camden was shortlisted in all four awards categories, including best contribution by a new apprentice and best progression by an apprentice, a massive achievement that celebrates the contribution of local apprentices to Camden and its community.

Camden also came away with two awards on the night. 33 year old former Customer Service apprentice Carly Mitchell won the prestigious Apprentice of the Year award and Camden took home ‘Best work with supply chains and small businesses’. This award highlights the innovative work happening across Camden to create new apprenticeship opportunities, as well as the excellent work by the team to place local candidates.

The night represented a significant accomplishment for Camden, as the candidates from other London boroughs were particularly strong. Apprenticeships provide opportunities to people of all backgrounds to gain qualifications and build successful careers. The evening’s success proved a reflection of Camden’s innovation and the talents and hard work of those undertaking an apprenticeship.
