Camden marks Queen’s milestone birthday in style

Camden Council today marks Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th birthday (Thursday April 21,) with a special message on top of the iconic BT tower in Camden.

The special Happy Birthday message will play throughout the day from 6:30am and will culminate in the evening with beacon flames being projected onto its large screens between 8.30pm to 10:30pm.

The spectacle has been organised though a partnership between Camden and BT.

Councillor Abdul Hai, Cabinet Member for Customers, Communities and Culture said:

“We are delighted to be marking The Queen’s milestone birthday locally in Camden in partnership with BT.

“Camden residents will be able to view the special birthday message throughout the day, and the beacon flames from across the Borough.

“We are proud to be joining in the day’s special celebrations and joining other local authorities and citizens who will be lighting beacons throughout the UK to celebrate the Queen’s special day.”

Councillor Larraine Revah, Mayor of Camden said:

“I’m delighted that we have been able to find such a special way of marking the Queen’s 90th birthday. With the BT tower visible from so much of our borough it’s the perfect way to let our residents share in the good wishes.”
