Camden to help local authorities work together to transform digital services

Camden Council is one of 10 local government organisations that have joined together to co-publish today’s (4 July) Local Digital Declaration.

The Local Digital Declaration is a programme that will help local authorities work towards a shared vision of what good digital processes and systems look like. At today’s launch we are committing to work with a cross sector of organisations to create a more joined up approach local government digital services.

Digital services in local government refers to any council activity that is delivered online. This covers a wide range of things from getting help on housing issues and benefits to paying your council tax and registering to vote.

At Camden we are committed to ensuring our services are meeting the needs of our residents, whilst working innovatively make the most of our resources. We see digital technology as a key part of achieving this, which is why we’ve been involved in developing this initiative from its early stages.

Other organisations involved in signing today’s declaration include the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), the Greater London Authority (GLA) and the Government Digital Service (GDS).
