Camden says a ‘Big Thank You’ to apprentices and employers

Camden held its annual Big Thank You event on Friday (9 March), as part of National Apprenticeship Week, at the Warner Bros. offices in Holborn.

Employers, apprentices and Camden’s apprenticeships team came together to celebrate the success of apprentices recruited through our Camden Apprenticeships service and the King’s Cross Construction Skills Centre.

Camden’s free service supports employers to make the most of apprenticeships and recruit the best talent. It also opens up new career opportunities to residents of all ages, with qualifications now available to anyone over 16 and ranging from entry level to degree and masters.

The Apprentice of the Year was 17-year-old Sinade Ferrell Daniels, a former student at Acland Burghley School in Tufnell Park, who is now an apprentice registration officer in the council's registrars department.

This year’s winners were:

  • Most Improved Apprentice: Kai McDermott (Business Support Apprentice - Camden Council)
  • Most Reliable Apprentice: Joseph Mackulin (General Administration Apprentice - UCL Academy); very highly commended: Layla Aithsine (Business Administration Apprentice - Wellcome Trust)
  • Best Team Player: Kayleigh McDonald (Early Years Apprentice - Brookfield Primary School)
  • Best Apprentice Progression: Shiraj Ali (Apprentice Data Entry Officer - Camden Council)
  • Supervisor of the Year: Adam Dray, from Camden Council, who manages Ajim Gani; very highly commended: (Najima Khatun - Exterion Media)
  • Apprentice of the Year: Sinade Ferrell Daniels (Registrar Apprentice - Camden Council).

Thanks to all of our apprentices and supervisors, who continue to demonstrate the positive role of apprenticeships, and the value they add to organisations.
