Big screen back at Talacre Gardens for weekend games

It’s been a truly marvellous World Cup – so despite England’s exit, Camden is putting on a big screen event for both Saturday’s play-off match and Sunday's final.

Once again at Talacre Gardens, the big screen will show England’s third/fourth place game against Belgium on Saturday (3pm kick off) and then the World Cup final, France vs Croatia, on Sunday (4pm kick off). Unlike England’s semi-final there will be no event at Russell Square.

It has been a World Cup where European teams have excelled – and it would be great to see Camden families of all nationalities down at Talacre, enjoying the football in the sunny weather, celebrating our links with the continent.

Councillor Georgia Gould, Leader of Camden Council, said: “It's been a brilliant World Cup and there has been an amazing community spirit in Camden as we've enjoyed the football together. The England team did everyone proud and gave us some fantastic moments and lots to celebrate.

“France and Croatia are two great teams that look set to give us an exciting World Cup final and and it will be great to give England a good send-off too. I know we have a lot of French residents in Camden and I invite them, Croatians in Camden and all nationalities to come down, bring a picnic and enjoy themselves this weekend.”

We’ll also show the Women's and Men's Singles Finals from Wimbledon

The council’s leisure partner, Better, have generously part-funded the screenings of these games, contributing half the money. The council appreciates their support in making this happen for Camden’s communities.
