An easier way to swap Council and housing association homes

A mutual exchange is a fast way to swap homes between two or more council and housing association tenants.

You could be in a new home of your choice in less than 9 weeks, whereas you’re likely to be waiting longer to bid successfully for permanent accommodation through Camden’s housing register. Last year, over 300 households moved through a mutual exchange in Camden.

You can exchange your property with another Council or housing association tenant anywhere in the country; perhaps to be closer to family or friends or nearer work.

Interested? Come to our event

We’re hosting a mutual exchange event in partnership with Islington Council on Thursday 8 October at The London Irish Centre, 50-52 Camden Square, NW1 9XB at 4-6pm.

The event will be an opportunity for you to meet other Camden and Islington tenants who are looking to move into larger or smaller accommodation.

You’ll need to register for this event and have an advert of your home created - call the team on 020 7974 1237.

If you’re currently applying for a Council or housing association home – remember to update your application as we’re changing who gets priority.
