A statement from the Leader of Camden Council on national adult social care funding

Councillor Sarah Hayward, Leader of Camden Council, has made the following statement following today's Prime Minister's Questions and subsequent news reports regarding Surrey County Council's contact with the Government on adult social care funding:

Councillor Sarah Hayward, Leader of Camden Council
“Without further explanation, this looks like a shabby political deal that ignores the real needs being felt by people across the country. The Government needs to work with all councils and the NHS to get to grips with the social care crisis rather than working on short term fixes for the few.

“The Government has some explaining to do - they must reveal full details of the memorandum of understanding and ensure that any financial settlement made with Surrey is available to all councils.”
